Top Workers Compensation Blogs for 2011

This blog has again been honored by its 2011 selection into the top 25 worker's comp blogs in the country by LexisNexis. This is our fourth year in a row. But I really liked what they said about this blog because it brings home the point that good writing about this tough area need not be boring at all and perhaps even worthwhile to our readers. Here from the LexisNexis website is what was said:

2010 Blog Award as Top 25 Workers Comp Blog

For the third year we have been honored by LexisNexis for publishing this blog. For anyone wanting to see the list of all those honored click here. Some blogs, like this one are state specific while others touch on other matters. One blog deals with the weekly toll of deaths on the job. Still another addresses working immigrants. Workers Compensation is both a national and state matter. What makes it state specific is that each state has its own set of laws and rules so what applies in one state may not apply to another. Time limits to act are especially specific to state requirements. That is why trying to compare a work injury in Colorado with perhaps one in Kansas is a mistake.

We have again received an honor from LexisNexis for 2009. Last year we received the honor for being a top workers comp blog. Now again we have a similar honor for 2009. Here is what they said about this blog:

If you would like to see all of the honorees click here. It is an interesting mix of blogs and you can gain quite a bit of insight on workers compensation in general from those blogs. Of course be aware that workers compensation is a creature of state statute, rules and caselaw. Colorado law is what pertains to each injured workers claim although what is happening around the country lets us know of the trends in the field.

Received a nice email today from LexisNexis a major publisher. They have included our blog in the Top 25 in the country! It is a nice honor and much appreciated. Of course in turn I can say its contents are primarily the result of the problems and disabilities of those injured workers who deserve fair treatment. It always amazes me when I work in this field to deal with those who seem to reduce the injured worker to a price tag. No question there are financial elements of a claim but many of the injured must now live with pain and limitation. Further many must deal with other problems such as loss of career, depression and changing their lifestyle. They deserve to have their story told and told and told.
